This role is responsible for aggressively developing the business of Graybar by prospecting new customers and creating mutually beneficial business opportunities.

Position Summary
:

The Business Development Specialist - Electrical is responsible for aggressively developing the business of Graybar by prospecting new customers and creating mutually beneficial business opportunities. This role also delivers a high level of service to our current customers by promoting the total Graybar product offering to fulfill their needs. This position provides the highest quality customer care, following corporate objectives and revenue goals.

Major Responsibilities:

  • This is a "hunting" role that will actively seek new customers in the territory that will enable the company to secure profitable business while maintaining and developing relationships with current customers.
  • Promote and sell Graybar Canada products and services to existing customers.
  • Prepare estimates and quote pricing, credit terms, warranties and delivery dates.
  • Participate in training sessions, trade shows and sales meetings as required.
  • Create and execute an AMP (Account Management Program) that ensures appropriate sales coverage of all assigned accounts.
  • Create and execute a CSP (Core Supplier Plan) to increase core supplier product sales through account targeting and co-operative activities.
  • Team up with other Graybar sales specialists where appropriate to leverage total Graybar solution capability.
  • Ensure compliance with company sales policy.
  • Strive for continuous growth and improvement.


Preferred Skills & Experience
:

  • Technical degree or diploma preferred but is not mandatory.
  • Three years of relevant sales or industry experience is considered an asset.
  • Must have a passion for sales and a "hunter" mentality when driving new business.
  • Knowledge of electrical products is considered an asset.
  • Experience with salesforce.
  • Experience in the electrical industry is considered an asset.
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Able to prioritize work and ability to be flexible and work independently.
  • Consistently able to meet deadlines competently and in a timely fashion.
  • Possesses strong relationship-building skills to cultivate and develop customer loyalty.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Products
