About Matthias Media

Matthias Media produces cinematic, story-driven YouTube documentaries that turn complex financial and economic topics into binge-worthy visual stories. Our content competes in the same arena as Johnny Harris, Wendover Productions, and ColdFusion—using storytelling, visuals, and pacing to make the economy feel human.

We’re looking for a Senior YouTube Video Editor who can shape long-form scripts into high-retention, emotionally resonant videos. You should understand the science of audience retention, the art of visual rhythm, and the storytelling instincts that make viewers stay until the very end.

What You’ll Do

  • Edit 10–30 minute YouTube documentaries that combine narration, interviews, b-roll, and motion graphics.
  • Structure edits around viewer retention and pacing data, ensuring smooth narrative flow and emotional engagement.
  • Use motion graphics, maps, charts, archival footage, and creative sound design to elevate storytelling.
  • Apply YouTube analytics insights (CTR, retention graphs, watch-time drop-offs) to continuously improve edits.
  • Seamlessly integrate sponsor segments, LUTs, and color grades while maintaining cinematic quality.
  • Edit long-form storytelling videos that teach entrepreneurs and professionals how to use YouTube to scale their business, focusing on clarity, pacing, and audience retention.
  • Edit short-form content (Reels, Shorts, TikToks) from long-form videos—optimizing for hooks, captions, and vertical framing that drive engagement across platforms.
  • Edit high-quality course content for online training programs, ensuring clear pacing, consistent branding, and seamless transitions between teaching segments and supporting visuals.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years editing experience for YouTube, documentary, or branded storytelling.
  • Mastery of Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Deep understanding of YouTube pacing, structure, and storytelling.
  • Ability to build emotion and clarity through visuals and timing.
  • Strong visual taste for typography, grading, and transitions.
  • Organized, reliable, and able to meet deadlines in a remote team.

Bonus Points

  • Experience editing economic or real-estate content.
  • Understanding of YouTube storytelling formats (Johnny Harris / Wendover / Vox).
  • Skilled at crafting thumbnail-friendly sequences and loopable intros/outros.
