Job Summary
Homeland Grain Inc. is a family owned country elevator and feedmill. We offer grain services and marketing, as well as feed services to local livestock customers.

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Grain Elevator/Feedmill Operator to join our team. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of grain handling and feed processing equipment within our country elevator facility. It also involves some maintenance and some manual labour.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working outdoors, possess mechanical knowledge with an interest in PLC controlled equipment, and the ability to work in a sometimes fast-paced environment focused on quality and excellent customer service. This position offers an opportunity perform a wide variety of operations which varies seasonally, working with a small team.

Hours are generally 40hrs per week, however overtime is required at summer and fall harvests as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and conditioning grain from the local harvest
  • Unload and load grain and feed trucks
  • Operate grain elevator and feedmill equipment, with a focus on efficient production
  • Maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness of work areas in compliance with food safety standards
  • Monitor equipment performance, perform basic troubleshooting, and report any mechanical issues promptly
  • Assist with quality control checks, ensuring products meet safety and quality standards
  • Adhere to manufacturing best practices to ensure efficient operations and minimal downtime
  • Overall maintenance of facility and grounds

Skills

  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Background and experience in agriculture an asset
  • Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting an asset
  • Basic math skills for inventory tracking, measurements, and quality checks

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
