Intent of the process
The immediate need of this process is to staff two positions on an indeterminate and/or term basis in Waterloo, ON.

A pool of partially and/or fully qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar or identical positions within FedDev Ontario with various tenures, language requirements and/or security clearance, which may vary according to the position being staffed.

Education :

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management subgroup.

Occupational Certification:
Eligibility for a recognized Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Experience:

EXP1 -*Significant experience in financial management that covers at least two (2) of the following areas:

1. Financial planning and budgeting
2. Internal control
3. Financial policy
4. Financial operations (payments and / or receivables)
5. Financial reporting

Significant experience is defined as the breadth and depth of experience associated with performing the duties on a regular basis, generally demonstrated over two (2) or more full financial cycles.

EXP2 - Experience in providing financial analysis, strategic advice and/or recommendations on a wide range of complex financial issues to management.

Occupation Certification:

AED1 - A recognized Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Experience:

AEXP1- Experience in direct supervision of staff ( planning, organizing and assigning work).

AEXP2 - Experience in optimizing or improving financial processes for efficiency using analytical tools, such as those in the Microsoft Power Platform (ex. Microsoft Power BI, or Power Querry).

AEXP3 - Experience designing and/or testing internal control processes/frameworks.

AEXP4- Experience leading a financial budgeting and forecasting team.

AEXP5- Experience working with the Receiver General Framework, Trial Balances, and/or Public Accounts of Canada.

AEXP6 - Experience working in the Government of Canada.

AEXP7 - Experience working in a public sector organization (provincial or municipal level governments, universities and colleges, etc.)
