Administrative Support

The Ministry of Forestry and Parks is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team in a permanent role in our Whitecourt office. In this role, you will provide a wide variety of administrative support, with a focus on integrated service delivery across multiple program areas. You will work collaboratively with administrative and financial teams and play a key role as a front-line contact. Responsibilities may include but not limited to welcoming and greeting Albertans, demonstrating a strong understanding of departmental procedures and processes, issuing licensing permits, providing client support, and assisting with payroll-related tasks such as maintaining employee records, and processing timesheets to ensure accurate and timely payroll administration, working with and understanding financial processes, including accounts payable, contract administration and revenue transactions.

The ideal candidate will have considerable experience working with internal and external clients, including regional and branch staff. In this role, you will act as a liaison between clients, contractors, corporate partners, and cross-functional teams to meet operational requirements while maintaining positive working relationships.

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills, strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma plus a minimum of two years of related administrative experience
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Minimum of one year of work experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
