The intent of this process is to fill one (1) bilingual position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Ottawa, Ontario. There are anticipatory positions with varying language profiles that may be staffed in the future in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Valcartier, Gagetown and Halifax. A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions at the Department of National Defence. Please note that this position is on-site, and you will be expected to work in-person for the entire duration of your scheduled hours.

EDUCATION
- A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. Candidates who already meet both of the following criteria must be accepted as meeting the secondary school diploma requirement: a) Candidates who have achieved a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; and
b) Candidates who have been appointed or deployed for an indeterminate period to a position in the EG classification. The opportunity to be assessed by at least one of the two employer-approved alternatives must be offered to candidates who have not previously met the secondary school diploma requirement. Candidates who were appointed or deployed on an indeterminate basis using an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience meet the secondary school requirement for the EG classification only and must be reassessed for entry to other classifications on the basis of this alternative.

EXPERIENCE
- Experience interacting with patients and healthcare professionals
- Experience working in a retail, hospital or long-term care pharmacy as a pharmacy assistant
- Experience in medication dispensing: Assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications by measuring, counting, and packaging them accurately. This includes labeling medication containers with relevant information
- Experience adhering to pharmacy regulations related to patient confidentiality and legal requirements for medication handling and dispensing
- Experience maintaining inventory and records management. This involves receiving, storing, and organizing stock, as well as checking expiration dates and removing expired or damaged products
