Full job description

Seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent to take full ownership of course agronomy, maintenance operations, and team. You will inherit a well-documented course: a GPS rover survey maps the entire property including all irrigation components, and a digital tracking system logs every irrigation head with full repair history. You are not starting from scratch — you are building on a solid foundation.

This role reports directly to ownership and carries genuine autonomy. If you are a hands-on agronomist who wants to shape a course and be part of a growing community — not manage upward through layers of corporate structure — this is worth your attention.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
> Full-time, year round.
> Pemberton, BC.
> $60,000-$80,000 annually, based on experience.
> Health spending account.
> Golf privileges.
> Food, beverage and golf shop accessories discounts.

THE PERFECT CANDIDATE:
> Minimum 3-5 years experience as a Superintendent or Senior Assistant Superintendent; 18-hole experience preferred.
> Degree or diploma in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or equivalent field experience.
> BC Pesticide Applicator Certification (or ability to obtain promptly).
> Demonstrated experience managing golf course irrigation systems; familiarity with GPS-based mapping tools is an asset.
> Proven budget management and purchasing experience.
> Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to build and retain a reliable seasonal crew.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
> Lead all aspects of turf management across greens, fairways, tees, bunkers, and rough to maintain high playing standards throughout the season.
> Manage and maintain the irrigation system, leveraging existing GPS mapping and digital tracking infrastructure.
> Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget including labour, chemicals, equipment, and capital items.
> Hire, train, schedule, and mentor the grounds crew.
> Oversee all pesticide and fertilizer applications in compliance with WorkSafe BC and applicable environmental regulations; maintain accurate application records.
