· Monitor contractor compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and performance requirements.
· Verify that construction activities align with approved drawings, technical requirements, and design intent.
· Coordinate daily construction activities to ensure efficient sequencing and minimal interference between contractors and site functions.
Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Compliance
· Drive a safety-focused culture across all site and construction work.
· Ensure contractors implement and comply with site-specific HSE plans, environmental management plans, and the Owner’s safety standards.
· Lead and participate in site safety meetings, toolbox talks, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
· Ensure site activities comply with permits, environmental approvals, facilities maintenance requirements, and regulatory conditions.
· Oversee water treatment and environmental management activities on site, ensuring compliance.
· Escalate any safety, environmental, or regulatory non-compliance issues promptly to the Director of Construction.
Schedule and Progress Control
· Review and validate contractor schedules, look-ahead plans, and construction sequencing.
· Manage short- and medium-term construction schedules, including daily and weekly planning.
· Monitor daily progress, productivity, and milestone achievement.
· Identify emerging schedule risks, delays, or interface issues and implement or recommend mitigation measures.
· Coordinate site inspections and progress reviews with contractors and the Owner’s team.
Cost Control and Change Management
· Track construction progress and productivity relative to contract value, payment milestones, and approved budgets.
· Monitor site-driven cost risks and support cost tracking and forecasting activities.
· Support the evaluation of change orders, field instructions, and contractor claims from an Owner’s perspective.
· Identify potential cost impacts early and escalate issues with supporting information and recommendations.
· Prepare and issue regular site reports covering safety, environmental compliance, progress, issues, and risks.
· Provide timely verbal and written updates to the Director of Construction on site conditions, priorities, and emerging risks.
· Maintain accurate Owner-side site records, including daily reports, photographs, inspection records, and as-built information.
· Ensure site documentation supports final handover, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset records.
Quality Assurance and Turnover
· Verify that contractor quality control processes are implemented and effective.
· Witness inspections, testing, and system completion activities as required.
· Verify completion of work packages and support system turnover, punch list management, and readiness for commissioning.
· Ensure construction works and documentation meet Owner standards and support long-term asset integrity.
Contractor and Interface Management
· Act as the primary on-site interface between the Owner and construction contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
· Manage contractor performance, including scope adherence, productivity, workforce conduct, and compliance with site rules.
· Coordinate interfaces between multiple contractors and site activities, including water treatment and Care and Maintenance functions.
· Resolve day-to-day site coordination issues and escalate unresolved matters as required.
Commissioning and Handover Support
· Manage pre-commissioning, commissioning, and system turnover activities.
· Coordinate closely with Operations and Maintenance representatives to support a safe and orderly transition from construction to operations.
· Assist with punch list resolution, completion certification, and final handover to Operations.
Experience and Qualification
· 15+ years of progressive experience managing multi-disciplined mineral-related construction projects.
