About the role:

Siemens Smart Infrastructure intelligently connects energy systems, buildings, and industries to adapt and evolve the way we live and work. In the Buildings division, we help create environments that care.

We are seeking a strategic, technically strong, and relationship-driven Business Development Manager to lead consultant engagement and specification influence across GTA and Ottawa.

The successful candidate will drive market development through deep technical engagement, thought leadership, and executive-level relationships—positioning Siemens solutions across Building Automation, Fire & Life Safety, Security, Energy Management, IoT, and Software platforms.


What will you do

  • Develop and execute a national and regional consultant engagement strategy aligned with Ontario regions' strategic priorities.
  • Build and maintain senior-level and working relationships with consulting engineers, design firms, and specifiers.
  • Position Siemens as a trusted technical advisor and preferred partner during project planning, design, and increase Siemens’ products and solutions in specification share, for both direct and indirect (partner) sales channels.
  • Create and execute consultant account plans, including relationship mapping for strategic firms.
  • Conduct regular consultant engagement activities including site visits, lunch-and-learns, technical sessions, and workshops.
  • Represent Siemens at industry events, conferences, and professional associations.
  • Support development of vertical market strategies (e.g., healthcare, higher education, infrastructure, commercial real estate).
  • Partner with Area Managers, Partner Managers, Product Management, and Marketing to align go-to-market strategies.
  • Support development of technical sales tools, design guides, and consultant-facing collateral.
  • Provide feedback to product and strategy teams based on market intelligence and consultant insights.
  • Collaborate with consultants to ensure specifications promote open, interoperable, and scalable solutions aligned with Siemens capabilities.
  • Influence early-stage project development to drive design alignment and downstream opportunities.
  • Support bid strategy, pursuit planning, and major project positioning in collaboration with sales and operations teams

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
  • 5 -10+ years of experience in: in a sales, business development, or technical sales role, ideally within the building technology, automation, HVAC, fire safety, Energy management and sustainable solutions or related industry.
  • Proven success and strong relationship with consultants, system integrators and general contractors in GTA and Ottawa.
  • Strong understanding of construction project delivery models and specification development processes.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and frameworks such as: ASHRAE/ UL/ BOMA
  • Solid understanding of systems integration, interoperability, and digital building ecosystems.
  • Executive presence and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business value propositions
  • Valid G License
  • Willingness to travel across GTA and Ottawa (30% overnight) for work.

Territory: GTA and Ottawa

Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $83,000 CAD - $ 125,000 CAD, excluding bonus and benefits. In addition to base salary, this role includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus ranging from 18% to 25% of base salary, based on Company performance metrics.
