Full job description

East Lake Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Powder Coater to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying powder coatings to various metal components, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards. This role requires mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand and power tools, and experience in a manufacturing environment. The Powder Coater plays a vital role in delivering durable, aesthetically pleasing products while maintaining efficient production workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare metal parts and components for coating by cleaning, masking, and surface preparation.
  • Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and curing ovens, following safety protocols.
  • Apply powder coatings evenly to designated surfaces, ensuring consistent coverage.
  • Monitor coating processes and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Use forklifts, or other lifting equipment to move heavy parts safely within the production area.
  • Perform routine maintenance on coating equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Work closely with the fabrication team to ensure parts are ready for coating and production timelines are met
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and quality standards.
  • Handle finished products with care to prevent damage and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Take on additional duties as required to support team success and project completion

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • Previous experience in a powder coating environment is preferred; fabrication shop experience is an asset
  • Experience with sandblasting or surface preparation techniques is considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and continuously improve skills
  • Team-oriented with a strong focus on safety
  • Forklift experience is an asset
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs
