Operations Director (Confidential Search)
Location: Edmonton, AB

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Operations Director to join a growing oilfield manufacturing organization based in Edmonton. This role will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, strengthening internal systems, and building scalable processes to support continued growth.

The Operations Director will oversee end-to-end operations, including production, supply chain, ERP/MRP systems, and quality management. This individual will bring a strong background in manufacturing environments and a proven ability to implement lean methodologies that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and optimize day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities across the organization
  • Own and enhance ERP/MRP systems to improve planning, scheduling, and inventory management
  • Establish and maintain robust quality standards and continuous improvement programs
  • Design and implement lean processes to drive efficiency, cost reduction, and operational scalability
  • Develop KPIs, reporting frameworks, and performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making
  • Build and lead high-performing teams across operations, production, and quality functions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and leadership to align operational capabilities with business objectives

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably within oilfield or industrial sectors
  • Strong expertise in ERP/MRP systems and production planning environments
  • Demonstrated success implementing lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma or similar is an asset)
  • Deep understanding of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and scale operations in a growth-oriented environment
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities
