Full job description

Aerotek is hiring several entry level production assemblers for our client in Saanichton, Victoria. We have morning, afternoon and night shifts available. All roles are project based to start with a potential to extend to permanent offers.

Responsibilities

  • Process, clean, install, assemble, verify, test, and inspect electrical and mechanical components, hardware, sub-assemblies, and assemblies on one or more product lines.
  • Operate shop equipment and hand tools as required for production tasks.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety procedures associated with production processes.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, methods, diagrams, workmanship standards, and other specifications in accordance with established assembly procedures.
  • Monitor, document, and record production and quality information to meet established quality requirements.
  • Maintain production build rates, follow schedules, and meet established time standards.
  • Perform repetitive assembly and general labor tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Use basic computer systems to access work instructions, enter production data, and complete required documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in training on different shifts to learn processes, tools, and quality standards before moving to the assigned shift.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform general labor and assembly work in a production environment.
  • Comfort with operating hand tools and basic shop equipment.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Strong written, verbal, reading, and basic math skills to follow instructions and complete documentation.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate work instructions and record production information.
  • Motivation to work and a clear interest in performing production and assembly tasks.
  • Ability to work AM/PM or Night shift - night shift requires training on either AM or PM shift
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and contribute to shared goals.
  • Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset to adapt to changing production needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with 5S workplace organization and lean manufacturing concepts is an asset.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment is helpful but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with coworkers and support a positive team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new processes, tools, and quality standards through on-the-job training.

Work Environment

Night Shift 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with required training on first shift

AM shift 6:15 AM to 2:15 PM

PM shift 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Wage

$23.50 is the base wage with a differential of $5.00 extra added after 6:00PM

The work takes place in a production facility where you stand for extended periods, perform repetitive assembly tasks, and use hand tools and shop equipment. The environment follows structured production processes, quality standards, and safety procedures. You receive two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute meal break during your shift. The facility is transit accessible, and you work as part of a collaborative team focused on meeting production targets and maintaining a clean, organized workspace aligned with lean and 5S principles where applicable.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $28.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
