Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Global Sourcing)

Amico Patient Care is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support our growing supply chain operations. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who excels at building supplier relationships, optimizing sourcing strategies, and ensuring a reliable, cost-effective supply chain.

What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives in collaboration with engineering, production, and cross-functional teams
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard global suppliers based on capability, quality, cost competitiveness, and reliability
- Lead supplier negotiations with confidence, consistently securing optimal pricing, terms, and long-term value
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while holding partners accountable to performance expectations
- Assess supplier manufacturing capabilities, including equipment, processes, and technical expertise, to ensure alignment with requirements
- Mitigate supply chain risks by developing alternate and diversified sourcing strategies
- Manage sourcing projects end-to-end, driving progress across internal stakeholders through to successful completion
- Analyze purchasing data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies
- Track, report, and present on cost-saving initiatives and sourcing performance on a regular basis
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and internal processes
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or purchasing
- Proven track record of strong negotiation skills, with the ability to confidently push back and secure best-in-class pricing and terms
- Solid experience with global sourcing and supplier development
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier capability assessment
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, technical requirements, and market conditions
- Experience managing sourcing initiatives from concept through execution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is an asset
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Multilingual capabilities are a strong asset
- Experience in manufacturing or medical equipment environments
- Exposure to supplier diversification and risk mitigation strategies
- Professional certifications such as SCMP or CPP
