We are currently hiring a Shipping Clerk in our Burnaby, BC location!
Shift Available: Monday – Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Pay Rate: $19.25/hour

What you’ll do:
The Shipping Clerk I is responsible for taking part in receiving all forms of incoming lenses and frames. They are responsible for processing the product up to a point where each type of job is ready for start of order entry, production or invoicing (uncut). They must complete the receiving and processing tasks with accuracy and without delay. They are also responsible for invoicing uncut or E&M work and preparing it for shipping thru the various couriers.
Primary Responsibilities
-
Take part to receive un-pack and electronically scan or enter all incoming orders, frames or lenses.
- Sort incoming work, identifying new orders, frames to follow, third party coating work, RX or stock credits.
- Receive frames for work in process (FMTC) into DVI system, accurately matching to the correct order, and label accordingly
- Process RX credits for work in process where applicable, following SOP.
- Take lenses received from outsource vendors to the holding area and match back to jobs paper or tray, and take to the next workstation
- Deliver new orders, frames or lenses, to the next workstation with sense of urgency and prioritization
- Complete with accuracy and care, the invoicing and prepare/package/label each pair of glasses or lenses for each courier type
- Work with prioritization, organization and speed to meet pick up times for each courier
- Identify urgent or problem jobs and make appropriate communications, verbally and/or electronically, and/or using standardized stickers or forms.
- When necessary, use web access links to look up incoming or delayed shipments from outsource labs, in order to plan workflow.
- Understands when jobs require a call to be placed to accounts and communicates to CCS appropriately.
- Assist Customer Care, lab or other departments where needed.
- Takes an active part in helping the team to meet KPI (performance targets)
- Help out in other areas as needed, for example; tracing frames (Training will be provided)
Key Skills Required
- Able and willing to work as a team
- Able to read and write in English, basic proficiency
- Have good eyesight, had/eye coordination, manual dexterity, attention to detail and patience
- Can work independently
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Stand for extended periods throughout shift
- Walk and use hands regularly throughout shift
- Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Perform detailed manual tasks requiring good hand-eye coordination
- Distance and color vision required
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crawling
