Full job description

Fireside Minerals is a operating mining and mineral development company focused on its barite resource in Northern British Columbia. We are committed to responsible exploration, and mining with strong environmental stewardship.

Reporting to the Mine Manager and Geologist, the Driller is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, and maintenance of diamond drilling equipment to maximize core recovery and productivity. In this case we are using a Discovery 1 core drill made by Multipower Products in Kelowna BC.

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining all drilling-related equipment.
  • Supervising the Driller’s Helper, promoting a strong safety culture and high-quality work standards.
  • Ensuring the safety of yourself, your helper, and all crew members on site.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient drill site.
  • Communicating regularly with the Foreman, Geologists, and field team regarding progress and conditions.
  • Competitive hourly wage.
  • Performance-based bonuses tied to production/meters drilled.

24 days on (12 hour working hours each day) and 17 days off.

  • Only day shift
  • Travel, accommodations, and meals fully covered by Fireside Minerals
  • Minimum 2 years of diamond drilling experience
  • Valid Canadian Driver’s Licence with a clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Mechanically Inclined
  • Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (site-dependent)
  • Valid First Aid Certification (Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C preferred)
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Pay: $35.00–$40.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Work Location: Northern BC (Fly In and Out of Whitehorse)

Pay: $50.00-$65.00 per hour
