Kennedy Energy is a wholesale fuel and lubricant distributor for Petro-Canada (Suncor) operating in Northen Manitoba and Northeast Saskatchewan and is an affiliated company as part of The Kennedy Group of Companies.

We currently have a management opportunity for a highly motivated, pro-active, and detail-oriented individual who is customer-focused, safety-oriented and a proven multi-tasker for the key role as Site Operations Manager for our office located in The Pas, Manitoba.

The primary duties and responsibilities include:

· Manage day- to- day operations of The Pas bulk fuel and cardlock sites including but not limited to fuel railcar handling, site repairs and maintenance, fuel & lubricant inventory management, all in accordance with company policy and procedures.

· Coordinate daily logistics of customer order taking and dispatch to fuel truck drivers and effectively troubleshoot and timely resolve any operational issues.

· Maintain, coordinate, and report on company safety program for these sites and for Kennedy Energy sites located in Thompson, MB including safety audits.

· Ensures all employees, site, fleet and all other assets under management are compliant and up to date with the company’s safety program, industry and governmental policies, procedures, and regulations.

· Identify and coordinate any fleet repairs and safeties for fleet located in The Pas.

· Maintain and build positive customer relationships to retain and grow business within the service area including active networking for new fuel and lubricant sales.

· Regularly monitor local competitive environment and respond to customer inquiries with regards to Petro-Canada products and pricing.

· Respond to customer issues and concerns in a helpful, timely, and respectful manner at all times.

· Perform various administrative tasks including customer billing, collections, inventory reconciliation and other processes in coordination with Kennedy Energy’s office in Thompson and/or The Kennedy Group headquarters in Winnipeg.

· Supervise direct reports for The Pas site including fuel truck drivers and yard maintenance and ensure timely payroll reporting. Hire and train new staff.

· Maintain organized files and ensure all required operational and administrative documentation is up to date and complete.

· Participate in management meetings and provide regular updates on local operations and issues.

· Perform fuel truck driving duties, if qualified, as necessary.

· Requires after-hour availability to respond to and promptly assess any urgent, customer time-sensitive, and safety-related matters.

· Some travel within The Pas service area and to Thompson is required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Prior fuel or related industry experience, whether as a driver, supervisor or manager, highly beneficial.
  • At least 2 years experience in an operational role a definite plus.
  • Strong problem-solving capability and ability to make often quick yet good decisions.
  • Proven ability to work in deadline and pressure situations.
  • Exceptional communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Supervisory experience and ability to successfully delegate work and tasks.
  • Flexible team player with confidence to act as a leader when required.
  • Strong computer skills including use of GPS software, Microsoft 360 and Teams, as well as the ability to utilize and adapt to new technology and processes.
  • Valid Class 1 and/or Class 3 license a strong asset.
  • Other combination of skills and experience may be considered.
