Looking to start a career in CNC machining?

Palcam Technologies is a precision machine shop in Newmarket, Ontario, with a team of approximately 60 employees. We are looking for a CNC Apprentice / Junior CNC Operator who is motivated to learn, develop new skills, and build a long-term career in manufacturing.

One of the advantages of joining Palcam is the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience with a variety of CNC machines and advanced manufacturing equipment.

Rather than being limited to one type of machine, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills across different areas of machining, including CNC milling, 5-axis machining, EDM, and other precision manufacturing equipment.

You don't need to know everything when you start — we're looking for someone who is willing to learn.

What You'll Have the Opportunity to Learn

As you develop your skills, you may have the opportunity to train and gain experience in:

  • CNC machining and machine operation
  • 5-axis CNC machining
  • EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)
  • CNC machines using Fanuc controls
  • Different types of mills and machining equipment
  • Machine setup and tooling
  • Precision measurement and inspection
  • Reading engineering drawings and specifications
  • Cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining processes
  • Quality control and in-process inspection
  • Advanced manufacturing and precision machining techniques

Your training and responsibilities will grow as your skills and experience develop.

What You'll Do

  • Operate CNC machinery with training and guidance from experienced team members.
  • Learn to set up and operate different types of CNC equipment.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and dimensional requirements.
  • Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Follow production, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area through 5S practices.
  • Work alongside experienced machinists and other team members.
  • Develop the skills required to progress into more advanced CNC machining roles.
