Full job description

Tero Power Inc.

· Toronto, ON · Full-time · Sites across Ontario

About Tero Power

Tero Power is a solar construction contractor based in Toronto. We install solar on commercial and industrial rooftops and we build ground-mount solar across Ontario — racking, modules, DC wiring, balance of system, and the civil work that goes with it. We are a field-first company with a steady pipeline of Ontario work, and we are growing the crew.

We are hiring at two levels — and we have room for both

1. Solar Installer (experienced). You have installed solar before. Commercial, industrial, ground-mount— or residential. Residential counts. If you have spent a season on rooftops setting rails and landing modules, the skills carry over and we want to talk to you.2. Solar Installer (entry level / apprentice). You recently finished an electrical, renewable energy, or construction/trades program, or you have general construction and labour experience and want to build a career in solar. You will learn on real jobs alongside experienced installers.

Apply to whichever fits. We will sort out the level in the conversation.

What you will do

Lay out and assemble racking and mounting systems — ballasted and attached systems on flat commercial and industrial roofs, and pile-mounted tables on ground-mount sites

Set, align, and torque solar modules to spec

Run and land DC wiring: stringing, connectors, combiner terminations, grounding and bonding, cable management

Install balance-of-system components — inverters, conduit and tray, disconnects, penetrations and flashing per detail

Remove and replace aging modules and racking on repowering projects

Site and material work: staging deliveries, layout, pile checks, housekeeping

Work safely from ladders, lifts, and roofs — daily toolbox talks, full PPE, and reporting anything unsafe on the spot

Work from drawings and manufacturer instructions, and document daily progress with photos and reports

What you need

For the experienced role

At least one season (roughly 1 year) of solar installation experience — any segment, including

residential. Comfortable with cordless tools, torque specs, tape and string-line layout

Working at Heights (CPO-approved) and WHMIS 2015 — current, or willing to obtain before your start date

Reliable transportation to sites in the GTA, and willingness to travel to sites elsewhere in Ontario, including overnight stays

Able to lift 50 lb repeatedly and work outdoors year-round

Legally entitled to work in Canada

Enough English to follow and give safety direction on site

For the entry-level role

A recent certificate or diploma in electrical, renewable energy, construction, or a related trade — or hands-on construction/labour experience and a real interest in solar

The same safety, travel, and physical requirements listed above

A willingness to learn the trade properly: racking, module handling, torque, and DC basics get

taught here

Assets (not required)

Electrician apprenticeship registration or hours logged toward a 309A

Ground-mount experience: driven or helical piles, torque-tube tables, tracker systemsRoofing, sheet metal, structural steel, or mechanical trades background

Certifications for scissor lift, boom lift, telehandler, forklift, or skid steer

Standard First Aid and CPR, Confined Space, or Fall Rescue

Valid Ontario G licence with a clean abstract

Ability to read layout drawings and single-line diagrams

Why work here

Both roles are open, and we have space for everyone. We are building crew depth, not filling

one seat.

Broader work than residential. Commercial and industrial rooftops and ground-mount farms — bigger systems, real equipment, and skills that make you more employable every season.

Strong installers move up to lead hand and foreman as we grow.

Steady Ontario pipeline rather than one-off jobs.
