Full job description

We're looking for a modern, multi-skilled Social Media & Content Specialist to own the day-to-day execution of our social media, short-form video, and content programs across our five showrooms: Ottawa Cyrville, Kanata, Hunt Club, Kingston, and Gatineau.

You'll produce content that drives real business results: store traffic, campaign performance, and customer engagement. If you thrive on variety, work confidently with AI as a creative accelerator, and want your work to visibly move the needle for a well-known Canadian retailer, let's talk.

What you can expect

  • A lean, senior marketing team where your work ships fast. You'll report directly to the Marketing Manager, with no layers of approval between you and publishing.
  • Two markets and two languages. Nearly everything you produce runs in both English and French.
  • Variety over specialization. One week leans heavily on video production, the next on paid creative or article refreshes.
  • Real ownership of the content calendar, and real accountability for whether it moves store traffic.
  • Regular time out of the office. Roughly monthly you'll film design stories in customer homes, plus ongoing capture across our five showrooms.
  • A marketing operation that treats AI as standard equipment rather than a side experiment.
  • Direct visibility into performance. You'll see how your content connects to traffic and revenue, not just likes.

What you'll do

  • Own our social channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube Shorts) across both the English and French markets
  • Shoot and edit short-form video, including monthly design story content captured in customer homes
  • Produce paid ad creative and campaign assets in collaboration with our paid media partner
  • Refresh top-performing blog and Learning Centre articles quarterly using AI-assisted workflows
  • Manage community engagement and response across all social channels
  • Turn our content library into video. We have thousands of product photos, room shots, and design stories accumulated over the years. You'll use AI video generation tools to transform that library into short-form content for social, ads, and web.
  • Coordinate with our CRM Specialist, Traditional Media Lead, store teams, and external partners

Who thrives here

  • People who'd rather ship ten strong pieces this month than one perfect piece this quarter.
  • Self-directed operators who work well with a brief, a deadline, and nobody hovering.
  • Anyone comfortable working inside a customer's home: courteous, efficient, and respectful of someone's living room.
  • People who like being measured. If a campaign underperforms, you want to know why and fix it.
  • Team players in a small department, where covering for each other matters more than job titles.

Our strongest candidates are often...

  • Creators who've run social for a small brand or agency and did all of it themselves: shooting, editing, writing, scheduling, reporting.
  • Video-first people who came up producing for TikTok or Reels and learned marketing strategy second.
  • Marketers who taught themselves AI tooling well ahead of any employer mandate, and have the output to prove it.
  • Bilingual communicators with roots in the Outaouais and Ottawa region who understand both markets from the inside rather than through translation.
  • People arriving from an adjacent craft : photography, videography, journalism, visual merchandising with a portfolio that shows the transition already underway.

Successful candidates are...

  • Fast and finish-oriented. Deadlines land without reminders.
  • Comfortable on camera, or comfortable directing the person who is.
  • Curious about performance data, not only creative output.
  • Genuinely fluent in both languages, in writing and on their feet with customers.
  • Easy to work with across the business: store staff, customers, and agency partners.
  • Organized enough to run their own calendar without being managed into it.

What you'll bring

Required

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience producing social content, short-form video, and digital marketing assets
  • A portfolio showing real range across social, video, copy, and campaigns
  • Daily working use of modern AI tools: LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini), image generation (Midjourney, Nano Banana), and ideally AI video tools (HeyGen, Seedance, Higgsfield, or their peers). We have a strong preference for candidates who've built things with these tools and can show us the output. Bonus if you've turned static images into video.
  • Short-form video shooting and editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Pro, or equivalent)
  • Bilingual capability in English and French. This is non-negotiable for our Gatineau market.
  • Basic photography and design skills (Canva-level minimum)
  • Professionalism filming on location in customer homes
  • Strong organizational skills. You own your calendar and hit your deadlines.

Assets

  • HubSpot experience
  • Retail or home furnishings background
  • Paid social creative production experience
  • Motion graphics skills

Why You'll Love It Here

Comprehensive Benefits

  • Extended Health Care
  • Dental Care
  • Vision Care
  • Life Insurance
  • Wellness Program

Recognition & Rewards

  • Performance bonus opportunities
  • Awards and recognition programs
  • Opportunity to earn a paid incentive trip
  • Company events and celebrations

Employee Perks

  • Employee furniture discount program
  • Flexible scheduling opportunities, including hybrid work (2 days in-office / 3 remote)
  • On-site parking
  • Ongoing training and development

Supportive Team Environment

Work alongside passionate people who enjoy helping customers and supporting each other's success.

Career Growth

Build a long-term career with an established Canadian retail brand and a marketing team that's investing in new capability.
