About Glow The Event Store

Glow The Event Store is a full‑service event rental and production company serving Halifax and the Maritimes. We support weddings, corporate events, festivals, large‑scale tented events, seasonal installations, décor builds, and amusements. Our teams operate out of our warehouse and on location, working together to deliver safe, creative, and memorable events.

We are currently hiring Full-Time & Casual Event Staff across multiple divisions.

About the Role

This posting represents multiple full‑time openings within our Event Operations department. Successful candidates will be hired into one primary division based on experience, interest, and operational needs:

  • Tent Operations
  • Décor Operations
  • Amusement Operations
  • Driver/Mover

While your primary role will be within one division, flexibility is required, as teams may support one another during peak seasons or large‑scale events.

This is a hands‑on, physical role that includes warehouse work, transportation, event setup and teardown, and on‑site support.

General Event & Warehouse Responsibilities

(All divisions)

  • Preparing, pulling, loading, and unloading event equipment
  • Transporting equipment to and from events using company vehicles
  • Setting up and tearing down event products safely and efficiently
  • Cleaning, inspecting, and processing equipment after events
  • Organizing warehouse inventory and reporting damages or shortages
  • Supporting other operations teams when required

Note: This role involves approximately 70% physical work and includes lifting, walking, standing, and working indoors and outdoors.

Division‑Specific Responsibilities

Tent Operations

  • Assist with tent installation and removal following site plans
  • Handle tent frames, fabric, stakes, flooring, and related components
  • Participate in site preparation (layout marking, ground prep, flooring installation)
  • Use mechanical spike drivers as directed while following utility and safety guidance
  • Work on ladders and with basic/intermediate power tools
  • Ensure tent structures are secure, clean, and well maintained

Décor Operations

  • Pull décor inventory for upcoming events
  • Install drapery, table settings, linens, furniture, and themed décor
  • Support weddings, corporate events, holiday installations, Halloween stores, and seasonal activations
  • Work on ladders with basic installation tools
  • Participate in early‑morning setups and late‑night tear‑downs
  • Maintain décor quality and visual consistency

Amusement Operations

  • Set up, attend, operate, and tear down amusement equipment, including inflatables, games, rides, and fun‑food machines
  • Deliver friendly, professional guest service — particularly with children and families
  • Enforce safety rules and manage guest queues
  • Perform basic safety checks and report equipment issues
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of amusement areas
  • Support local and occasional out‑of‑town events (may include overnight travel)

Requirements

  • Valid Canadian driver’s license held for a minimum of 3 years for Full time & Part time positions
  • Clean driver’s abstract with no infractions
  • Willingness and ability to drive company vehicles
  • Ability to lift 50–65 lbs
  • Physically capable of working long days indoors and outdoors
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during busy event periods

Assets (Nice to Have)

  • Previous experience in events, rentals, warehousing, hospitality, or manual labour
  • Customer service experience
  • Carpentry or large‑structure installation experience
  • Comfort working on ladders and using power tools
  • Forklift or fall‑arrest certification
  • Experience with inflatables or amusement equipment
  • Willingness to travel for out‑of‑town events

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Dental care
  • Extended health care
  • On-site parking
