Structural Engineering Instructor

Metro College of Technology is a private career college in Toronto, Ontario. Since 1998 it has successfully been providing career-focused training programs to the public. The college trains its students with state of the art knowledge and skills to meet the demand of today’s dynamic job market. The programs at Metro College of Technology cover many disciplines, including mechanical engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, CNC technology, data science, cloud computing, network administration, accounting, payroll administration, SAP Accounting and SAP Supply Chain Management.

Currently we are looking for an instructor to teach following course in our Civil Engineering Design and Technology program:

GIS-ArcGIS

As an instructor you will perform the following duties:

  • Prepare teaching plan and teaching materials;
  • Deliver instruction to students;
  • Supervise student hand-on class activities ;
  • Invigilate student's tests and exams;
  • Mark student’s assignments, tests, exams and/or projects;
  • Provide tutorials and support to slow students.

You need to meet the following requirements:

  • A bachelor degree or higher in GIS;
  • You have at least 3 years of working experience in the field of GIS;
  • You have successful teaching experience;
  • Good knowledge and work experience in ArcGIS
  • You have passion for teaching and strong ability to learn and apply new knowledge and skill;
  • You are approachable, disciplined, organized, details-oriented and motivating;
  • Able to discipline students according the employability requirements;
  • Adult education certificate is an asset.

Start Date: Oct 5, 2026

Type of Position: Temporary contract for 40 hour teaching

Days and hours: Mon to Thu, 9:00 to 14:00, 5 hours a day, 20 hours a week.
