Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geomatics Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, managing, and analyzing spatial data to support infrastructure projects, land development, and mapping initiatives. Your expertise will help ensure accurate geographic information systems (GIS) data, precise surveying, and effective data management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while honing your technical skills in a collaborative environment. Duties

  • Conduct field data collection using GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment to gather accurate spatial information
  • Prepare detailed maps and drawings utilizing AutoCAD and CAD software to support project planning and design
  • Manage GIS databases using ArcGIS to organize, update, and analyze geographic data sets
  • Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to interpret spatial data and provide technical support
  • Assist in the development of digital mapping products and spatial analysis reports for various projects
  • Maintain organized records of survey data, field notes, and project documentation in databases
  • Support construction teams by providing precise location information and ensuring survey accuracy throughout project phases

Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and CAD software for drafting and design tasks
  • Experience with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS for spatial data management and analysis
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and site layout requirements
  • Ability to operate GPS units, total stations, and other surveying instruments effectively
  • Knowledge of data collection techniques, data management practices, and database systems
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for managing large datasets
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
