Underhill Geomatics is a progressive land surveying firm with offices in Fort St. John, Kamloops, Burnaby, Comox, and Whitehorse. Operating since 1913, Underhill continues to provide technologically advanced, flexible, and efficient geospatial solutions for all our clients’ needs within British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

Underhill Geomatics is seeking Survey Technician for project activities in Fort St. John BC.

We provide Geomatics expertise to our client at the BC Hydro Site C Clean Energy Project. Our staff participates in an incredible variety of work.

Responsibilities

  • UAV/Drone Flights and Processing
  • Laser Scanning
  • Precision Control and Tunneling Surveys
  • Laser Tracker Surveys (Leica AT403)
  • Volume Analysis w/XML surfaces in Civil 3D
  • Deformation Monitoring
  • QA Survey Checks
  • Hydrographic Surveying

Qualifications

  • Effective communications skills, both verbal and written English
  • Valid Driver’s license required
  • This role requires regular walking in brush and slopes, and the use of ladders and stairs.
  • Regular lifting of 15kg of equipment is typical. On occasion, lifting of 20kg of equipment may be required.
  • Ability and attitude to work and participate in a safety-conscious environment
  • Applicants should be legally authorized to work in Canada

We have a great crew, and great clients. Most importantly, staff experiences a massive variety of work scopes. Our crews may fly a drone, survey on the river and then laser-scanning underground in a day. Fort St. John is a growing, family oriented community where outdoor opportunity is abound. Camping, fishing, hunting and river boating at your doorstep.

Pay: $100,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
