Full job description

AMJ are looking for enthusiastic, experienced Driver must have their own Delivery Helper to support the functions of our operations for our Home Delivery team in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. We handle furniture, and other large home movables, and we're looking for hard-working individuals with 5-ton truck driving experience who'll be able to specialize in delivery, white glove, & installation services to and from our residential clients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

As an integral part of our Home Delivery team, the main duties in this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate professionally and courteously with customers during deliveries.
  • Deliver products to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on service, safety and efficiency.
  • Obtain customer signatures and complete delivery documentation.
  • Perform room-of-choice delivery, including carrying and positioning products within customers’ home.
  • Assist with basic product placement, setup and assembly when required.
  • Verify product loads using AMJ’s Dispatch app program.
  • Prepare trucks for loading products for the daily runs.
  • Inspect products before loading and upon delivery to ensure order accuracy and product condition.
  • Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Report vehicle maintenance issues, delivery concerns, incidents, or property damages promptly.
  • Follow all regulations and procedures assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and a clean drivers abstract for both driver and helper.
  • Previous experience of 1-3 years’ operating a 5-ton truck, delivery truck or similar commercial vehicle.
  • At least 6 months home delivery experience with furniture or other large home movable
  • Speak English fluently.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy furniture, mattresses and backyard product.
  • Physically capable of performing frequent lifting, carrying, bending, pulling, pushing, and climbing stairs.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Basic knowledge of hand tool skills.

Pay: From $12,000.00 per month
