At La-Z-Boy Ottawa, Gatineau & Kingston, our Delivery Drivers & Furniture Movers are responsible for the complete delivery experience — safely operating a 5-ton delivery truck and working alongside a delivery partner to load, unload, carry, assemble, and place furniture in our customers' homes.

This is a combined driving and furniture-moving position. Successful candidates must have a valid Class G driver's licence, an acceptable driver's abstract, previous experience driving a 5-ton commercial truck, and professional furniture moving or delivery experience.

As the final part of our customers' experience, you'll represent La-Z-Boy in their homes and ensure each delivery is completed safely, professionally, and with care.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate a 5-ton company delivery truck on scheduled delivery routes
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Load and unload furniture safely with your delivery partner
• Carry and maneuver furniture into customers' homes
• Assemble, place, and position furniture according to customer requests and company standards
• Handle furniture and customer property with care throughout the delivery
• Provide friendly, professional service in customers' homes
• Verify products and orders for accurate and complete deliveries
• Complete required electronic documentation, signatures, photos, notes, and condition reports
• Address delivery concerns or challenges calmly and professionally
• Work closely with delivery, warehouse, and store teams
• Maintain a clean and organized truck, equipment, and work area
• Follow company driving, safety, and furniture-handling procedures

What You'll Bring

Required:

• Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence
• Acceptable driver's abstract
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience driving a 5-ton commercial truck
• Minimum 2 years of professional furniture delivery or household moving experience
• Experience safely loading, carrying, maneuvering, and placing large furniture
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to use a mobile device and electronic delivery/routing applications
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada

This position requires team members to perform both the driving and furniture-moving responsibilities of the role.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver furniture and other items weighing up to 250 lbs with team assistance as required
• Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, lifting, and carrying
• Ability to safely maneuver furniture through residential spaces, including stairs, hallways, doorways, and elevators
• Regularly entering and exiting a delivery truck throughout the workday
• Extended periods of driving depending on the day's delivery route

Schedule

• Full-time
• Consistent 5-day schedule, with scheduled days to be determined
• Early morning, evening, and weekend availability required
• In-person position
