Full job description

Overview

As TMMP continues to grow, we are looking for a dynamic and highly skilled Business Systems Lead to drive the development, implementation, and improvement of the systems, processes, and technology that support our business. A key focus of this role will be leading the selection and implementation of a new (ERP) system, while identifying opportunities to improve and integrate supporting software and workflows across the company.

Working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Health & Safety, Human Resources, Finance, and leadership, the Business Systems Lead will develop a strong understanding of how each department operates today and identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve information flow, reduce duplication, and better connect our teams and systems.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands both business operations and technology, enjoys solving complex problems, and can translate real-world operational needs into practical, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with each department to understand and document current systems, processes, procedures, and workflows.
  • Identify inefficiencies, gaps, duplication, and opportunities to improve or streamline existing business processes.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, planning, and implementation of a new company-wide ERP system.
  • Gather, assess, and prioritize system requirements across Maintenance, Operations, Health & Safety, Human Resources, and Finance.
  • Develop process maps and help create clear, standardized procedures and documentation to support company-wide systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend supplementary software and programs that integrate with the ERP and TMMP's existing systems.
  • Lead and coordinate system integrations to improve the flow of information between departments and software platforms.
  • Work directly with IT contractors, software vendors, consultants, and implementation partners throughout system selection and rollout.
  • Translate operational and departmental requirements into practical system and software solutions.
  • Coordinate system testing, implementation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Support departments through system changes, including implementation planning, user adoption, training requirements, and change management.
  • Establish processes for maintaining system documentation, procedures, permissions, and ongoing improvements.
  • Provide regular project updates to leadership, including implementation progress, risks, challenges, budgets, and key decisions.
  • Ensure new systems and processes are scalable and able to support TMMP's continued growth.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Business Systems, Project Management, Engineering, Process Design, Business Administration, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in business systems, ERP implementation, IT implementation, project management, process improvement, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with ERP selection and/or implementation is strongly preferred and will be an important consideration in candidate selection.
  • Strong understanding of business systems, software implementation, integrations, and IT infrastructure.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating operational needs into system or software solutions.
  • Experience developing process maps, workflows, procedures, and other business documentation.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working directly with IT contractors, software vendors, developers, and implementation partners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Able to understand different departmental priorities and balance competing requirements when developing company-wide solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience implementing systems within construction, mining, heavy industry, or another operationally complex environment would be considered an asset.

What We Offer

  • Full-time, 40-hour work week.
  • Initial 1–2 year contract with the possibility of long-term extension.
  • Opportunity to lead a significant company-wide systems transformation from the ground up.
  • Direct involvement with company leadership and all major departments.
  • The opportunity to build systems and processes that will have a lasting impact on TMMP's operations and continued growth.
  • A collaborative work environment within a growing, locally owned company.

If you have experience connecting people, processes, and technology and enjoy taking complex operational requirements and turning them into practical systems that work, we'd like to hear from you.
