Store Manager – Pool & Spa Retail & Service Operations

Position Title: Store Manager
Location: Bosco Pool and Spa

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy Pool & Spa retail and service business. Our company provides comprehensive pool and spa products, water testing, maintenance supplies, equipment sales, repairs, service coordination, openings, closings, and renovation support.

The Store Manager is responsible for leading retail operations, managing staff, delivering exceptional customer service, coordinating service activities, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the store operates efficiently and profitably throughout the year.

Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations

  • Manage all day-to-day store operations to ensure a clean, organized, safe, and customer-focused environment.
  • Open and close the store as required.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed.
  • Monitor store performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues professionally and promptly.

Sales & Customer Service

  • Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Assist customers with pool and spa chemical programs, equipment selection, troubleshooting, and product recommendations.
  • Drive sales growth through effective merchandising, promotions, and staff coaching.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residential and commercial customers.
  • Ensure accurate water testing and chemical recommendations.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate retail staff.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development.
  • Manage staffing levels during peak seasonal periods.

Inventory & Merchandising

  • Oversee inventory control, purchasing, receiving, and stock replenishment.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of chemicals, equipment, parts, accessories, and seasonal products.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure product availability.
  • Monitor shrinkage and implement loss-prevention measures.
  • Ensure displays and merchandising standards are maintained.

Service Coordination

  • Coordinate scheduling and communication between customers and service technicians.
  • Manage workflow for pool openings, closings, maintenance services, equipment repairs, liner replacements, and renovation projects.
  • Ensure service jobs are scheduled efficiently and completed to company standards.
  • Monitor service department performance and customer satisfaction.

Financial Management

  • Monitor sales, margins, labor costs, and operating expenses.
  • Prepare reports and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and seasonal planning.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and point-of-sale procedures.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of retail management experience, preferably in the pool, spa, hardware, home improvement, or related industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Experience with inventory management and purchasing.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of pool and spa products, water chemistry, and equipment is preferred (training available for the right candidate).
