Career Opportunity – Legal Assistant/Clerk and Receptionist

Our firm is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant/Clerk and Receptionist. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient management of legal files including residential sales, purchases and refinance transactions, corporate, wills and estates, and notarizations. The position requires the candidate to greet clients in a polite and courteous manner and notify staff of their arrival. They will arrange and receive couriers and mail, and maintain and schedule meetings.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal setting (preferred).
  • College degree as a legal assistant or law clerk.
  • Strong phone and verbal and written communication skills along with active listening.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Responsible for files from opening to closing, including client intake/communication and reporting.
  • Vehicle required for banking and errands (compensation for mileage).
  • Experience in real estate and estates law will be considered an asset.

Compensation:
Remuneration will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications. Benefits are included after a probationary period.
