Full job description

Position Title: Projects Coordinator

Department: Operations

Type of Position: Full-Time, Permanent

Office Location: Surrey, BC

About the position:

As a Projects Coordinator, you will be part of a team that delivers exceptional customer service to all our clients; large or small and be a advocate for our 30-30 Service Standard.

Our team achieves this by diligently processing every quote request, formulating delivery options and providing the best optimal logistical solutions for our clients in the most cost-effective and reliable manner possible.

You will ensure that all the details for each quote are correct and proactively identify possible issues with any details and ensuring the best course of action is taken.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiates rates with carriers, which achieve acceptable margins as established by C&D Logistics management.
  • Arranges specialized services like cranes, moffats, white glove, expedited/hot shot freight, courier and domestic air freight.
  • Ensures all assigned C&D Logistics carriers are given the highest level of communication and service solution information.
  • Ensures any potential service issues are addressed prior to load pickup.
  • Ensures all carrier information is entered into Carrier Database.
  • Problem-solves client specific freight issues from the point of order placement through to completion.
  • Collaborates and aids other team members in delivering optimal transportation service solutions.
  • Resolves any service failures and communicates them with Logistics Supervisor.
  • Ensures all necessary information for each order is communicated effectively to all team members through clipboard notes and verbal communication.
  • Ensures all carriers have the necessary documentation to move
  • Research pricing for new and existing clients.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by Operations Manager

Qualifications and Skills

A high level of mental alertness and urgency is required for this position. Resourcefulness and tenacity are also valid indicators of effective performance. The ability to effectively negotiate and present issues in a clear concise manner is required. Must be able to work effectively with teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are required on a daily basis. Must be able to operate efficiently in a Windows environment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year (Required) in the freight industry
