Full job description

The Rope Loft is looking for an experienced and reliable cook to join our kitchen team for the remainder of the 2026 season and following seasons.

Located on the beautiful Chester waterfront, The Rope Loft is one of Nova Scotia’s most established seasonal restaurants, serving fresh seafood, quality pub fare, and memorable dining experiences to locals and visitors alike.

We’re seeking a cook who takes pride in their work, performs well under pressure, and understands what it takes to deliver consistently great food during busy services.

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen experience

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Ability to maintain quality and consistency during high-volume service

Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Food safety knowledge and attention to cleanliness

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items to restaurant standards

Set up and maintain station for service

Assist with prep work and daily kitchen duties

Ensure food quality, portioning, and presentation standards are met

Follow food safety and sanitation procedures

Work closely with kitchen leadership to ensure smooth service
