POSITION SUMMARY
Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario is seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support the organization during a transformational period, including the launch of a historic capital campaign. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Communications, this role provides hands-on execution and support across graphic design, social media, and internal and external communications. The successful candidate will be a versatile, detail-oriented self-starter who thrives on variety, manages multiple requests with ease, and brings consistency and care to every piece of content they touch.
This is an excellent opportunity for a marketing or communications professional looking to build broad, hands-on experience at a mission-driven organization with high community visibility.

Position Type: Full-time

Compensation:
To ensure fair and equitable pay, placement within the salary range will be based on your experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role. Hiring salary range: $45,000 to $55,000.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Graphic Design & Content Creation
- Design social media graphics, email graphics, posters, signage, and print materials using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, in line with established brand standards.
- Support production of donor-facing materials, capital campaign collateral, event materials, and internal communications assets.
- Maintain organized digital asset files and templates for repeatable, efficient use across the team.
Social Media
- Execute the social content calendar across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), writing channel-native copy tailored to each audience.
- Monitor and respond to comments and messages in a timely manner, escalating sensitive items as needed.
- Pull basic performance reporting on social and email campaigns to support broader marketing analytics.
Internal & External Communications
- Coordinate production of the internal staff newsletter, including collecting submissions, formatting content, and managing the production timeline.
- Draft and schedule email campaigns using Blackbaud (donor communications) and Mailchimp (event promotion, stewardship, and campaign updates).
- Support website updates and basic content maintenance.
Day-To-Day Operations & Request Management
- Monitor and triage the Marketing & Communications inbox, responding to or routing requests from across the organization in a timely manner.
- Manage incoming requests from departments (Events, Philanthropy, Operations) for marketing support, following established intake and approval processes.
- Maintain the marketing request tracker and task management system to keep projects organized and on schedule.
- Provide on-the-ground support at events as needed, including photography, signage setup, and social media coverage.
Brand & Process
- Apply brand guidelines consistently across all materials and touchpoints.
- Follow documented approval processes for social posts, donor recognition content, and other external-facing materials.
- Support overall organizational consistency and professionalism in all marketing and communications output.

- Embed DEI principles into all aspects of operations and programming, fostering an inclusive and equitable environment.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in all mission-focused activities of RMH-SWO.
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE REUQIRED
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or graphic design; nonprofit experience an asset but not required.
- Experience supporting events or working in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment is an asset.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign).
- Working knowledge of Mailchimp and/or Blackbaud (or similar email marketing platforms), and Meta Business Suite or native social media scheduling tools.
- Strong writing skills with demonstrated ability to adapt tone and style across different channels and audiences.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Forms) and Asana or similar project management tools is an asset.
- Organized and Detail-Oriented: Able to manage multiple requests, deadlines, and projects simultaneously without losing accuracy or quality.
- Collaborative: Comfortable taking direction, following established process, and contributing ideas within a small, growing team.
- Adaptable: Able to move between creative and administrative tasks throughout the day with ease.
- Strong Communicator: Confident written communicator able to adjust tone and voice across platforms and audiences.
- Mission-Driven: Genuine interest in and commitment to the mission of supporting families with critically ill or injured children.
- Integrity and Confidentiality: Discretion in handling sensitive donor, family, and organizational information.
Other Requirements:
- Current Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening are required prior to the start date
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR — Pediatric (minimum)
- Clear two-step TB test

Hours of Work: Monday – Thursday, 8:30am – 5pm
Evening and weekend availability may be required periodically to support fundraising events and community engagement initiatives.
Travel: Occasional travel to Windsor and other locations within Southwestern Ontario may be requested
