We're looking for a Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join our team to support projects across Alberta!

Reporting to the Site Superintendent and Director of Safety, you will act as the CSO for the project and ensure that high-quality performance and compliance to project standards are maintained while following strict safety protocols and reporting standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee health and safety activities for assigned project
  • Conduct new hire and subcontractor orientations
  • Lead daily and weekly Toolbox Talks
  • Complete weekly site safety inspections
  • Perform field safety observations and document findings
  • Investigate incidents and gather required information
  • Review subcontractor Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
  • Monitor completion of LMRAs/THAs before work begins
  • Support Superintendents with site safety requirements
  • Coach and mentor workers on safe work practices
  • Maintain a strong presence in the field to identify and address hazards
  • Work closely with trades and site personnel to promote a positive safety culture

Requirements:

  • Accreditation as a Construction Safety Officer
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Ability to travel to project locations across Alberta
  • Familiar with commercial construction processes
  • Proven ability to work with technology
