Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Dental Secretary to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, experience in dental or medical office settings, and the ability to manage front desk operations efficiently. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily clinic operations, excellent patient communication, and accurate record keeping.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic.
  • Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Assist with billing, insurance processing, and verifying patient insurance coverage.
  • Manage front desk responsibilities including check-in/check-out procedures and patient registration.
  • Coordinate with dental staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and appointment flow.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and correspondence related to dental office operations.
  • Support the team with general office duties to promote an organized and efficient work environment.

Experience

Candidates should have prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment, with familiarity using electronic health records systems such as Dentrix or Epic. Experience as a dental receptionist or in office administration is highly desirable.
Proficiency in managing multi-line phone systems and handling administrative responsibilities within a fast-paced setting is essential.
A solid understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry enhances communication with patients and staff.
Previous experience with office software applications and medical/office experience will contribute to success in this role.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are required for effective patient service delivery.
