Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional front desk support, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth office operations. This role requires a professional with strong administrative skills, familiarity with medical and dental terminology, and experience working with electronic medical records. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for patients and supporting clinical staff in daily tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages efficiently
  • Verify patient information and update electronic medical records using systems such as Epic and Dentrix
  • Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting insurance information and payments
  • Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and rescheduling to optimize provider availability
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing correspondence
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow throughout the office
  • Handle administrative duties at the front desk with professionalism and attention to detail

Experience

  • Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Office Assistant preferred
  • Knowledge of dental office software such as Dentrix and electronic medical records systems like Epic is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and office procedures
  • Proven experience working in a busy front desk environment within healthcare settings
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience managing multi-line phone systems
  • Demonstrated ability to handle administrative responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous office experience in healthcare or related fields is advantageous
