Full job description

270 West Consulting has proudly supported thousands of Canadian Veterans. Our mission is to help veterans, and their families understand and access the benefits and services available to them through Veterans Affairs Canada and community resources.

We are hiring an employee for our Benefit Navigator role located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

A normal day for a Benefit Navigator includes:

  • Leveraging military experience to assess and coordinate client benefits programs, including health claims, disability claims, and other health related benefits
  • Assisting with client enrolment process, including account set up, form preparation, and client information sessions
  • Conducting client orientation sessions to inform about available benefits and application processes
  • Serving as the main point of contact for clients regarding benefit inquiries and issue resolution
  • Maintaining client benefit records and ensure data integrity
  • Collaborating with the team lead and other benefit navigators to ensure accurate and timely communication of benefit updates and changes
  • Staying up to date on industry policies and regulations related to client benefits, such as Veteran Affairs, RCMP, etc.

We are looking to hire a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Strong preference for candidate with previous experience in the Canadian Armed Forces
  • First-hand knowledge of military terminology and careers
  • Fluency in French considered an asset
  • High School Diploma required, post-secondary education preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in customer service or a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and own a reliable vehicle
