Building Maintenance Technician

Location: Dartmouth, NS

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Building Maintenance Technician to join our growing property management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining residential apartment buildings, completing maintenance work orders, and preparing vacant units for new residents.

This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, is self-motivated, and can work independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Complete maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner
  • Perform apartment unit turnovers, including painting, drywall repairs, and minor renovations
  • Troubleshoot and complete basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
  • Conduct routine building inspections
  • Maintain common areas and exterior grounds
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs
  • Coordinate with contractors as required
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to company standards

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
  • Must possess and maintain a basic set of personal maintenance tools
  • Experience in residential or commercial building maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of painting, drywall repair, carpentry, and general repairs
  • Basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience completing apartment unit turnovers
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as required
