Front Desk Agent – Full Time
Guaranteed 32 Hours per Week
Explorer Hotel
Location: Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
The Explorer Hotel is seeking a friendly, professional, and customer focused Front Desk Agent to join our team on a full time basis, with a guarantee of 32 hours per week. This is a highly people facing role suited for individuals who take pride in delivering excellent guest experiences in a fast paced hospitality environment.

Position Summary
The Front Desk Agent is the first point of contact for our guests and plays a key role in shaping their overall experience. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and confidence using hotel systems, particularly reservation based platforms.
Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
  • Perform guest check ins and check outs accurately
  • Handle room reservations, modifications, cancellations, and billing inquiries
  • Operate and maintain property management and reservation systems
  • Respond to guest requests, questions, and concerns with professionalism and care
  • Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and the Yellowknife area
  • Process payments, balance transactions, and follow cash handling procedures
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments as needed
  • Maintain accurate guest records and daily logs
  • Support overall front desk operations to ensure smooth daily workflow
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous customer service experience is required; hotel or hospitality experience is a strong asset
  • Experience with reservation based or customer service computer systems preferred (PMS experience an asset)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable in a people facing, service oriented role
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Reliable, professional, and team oriented
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Schedule
  • Full time position
  • Guaranteed minimum of 32 hours per week
  • Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
