Full job description

We are searching for motivated people who want to work in a team atmosphere. Experience isn't required but is an asset. We are looking for a Baker to prepare different types of bread and a wide range of pastries, like cookies, cakes and pies.

Baker responsibilities include opening the bakery early in the morning, portioning ingredients, mixing dough, shaping breads and rolls, proofing and baking bread.

The Baker will be responsible for finished products, and process orders from customers. You will also clean workstations and equipment and perform other duties to ensure that customer needs are satisfied and the bakery is well-stocked and operating smoothly.

To be a successful Baker, you should be efficient and friendly with a focus on food quality and customer satisfaction. You should be organized, decisive, attentive, and possess a strong understanding of baking techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Open the bakery early in the morning (4:00 am Start Time for Shifts)
  • Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
  • Portion and shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including croissants, cookies and sweet rolls
  • Bake a variety different bread types and rolls
  • Package baked goods and display in store for sale
  • Package wholesale orders and ensure deliveries are out on time
  • Clean work spaces, equipment and perform maintenance on equipment
  • Clean and sanitize the production areas and equipment daily including washing dishes, sweeping, mopping and garbage disposal.

Requirements

  • Experience in the food industry is an asset.
  • Understanding of food safety practices
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to work in early morning shifts
  • Drivers license is not required but is an asset in order to get to work in the early morning

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
