ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Join us at the top.
This isn’t just a kitchen leadership role – it’s your opportunity to showcase your craft and lead at one of the most iconic dining destinations in the Canadian Rockies.
As Restaurant chef for Sky Bistro, you’ll shape the culinary experience at 7,500 feet, where every dish should feel intentional, memorable, and worthy of the view. Your food will tell the story of the mountains – thoughtful, seasonal, and inspired by the landscape around you.
With an exciting renovation and relaunch on the horizon, this is a rare opportunity to help reimagine the menu, shape the culinary direction, and define the next chapter of mountain dining at Sky Bistro.
This role is for a Chef who takes pride in their craft. Someone who leads with confidence, inspires their team, and holds the highest standards for quality and consistency. You’ll balance creativity with disciplined execution, elevate everyday service into exceptional moments, and create dishes guests remember long after their visit.

- Lead by example during service, setting the standard for professionalism, urgency, and teamwork
- Champion a safe, organized and respectful kitchen environment

- Execute consistently exceptional dishes that reflect modern mountain dining
- Maintain the highest standards for quality, presentation, and consistency on every plate
- Balance elevated cuisine with high-volume service demands
- Ensure disciplined prep, production, and execution
- Uphold food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards

- Contribute to seasonal menu development and feature creations inspired by the Canadian Rockies
- Showcase local ingredients and thoughtful techniques that elevate the guest experience
- Bring fresh ideas and creative offerings that drive excitement and sales
- Continuously refine recipes, processes, and plating standards
- Collaborate with Food and Beverage leadership on new concepts, activations, and events
Kitchen Operations & Performance
- Support scheduling, labour planning, and kitchen productivity
- Manage food cost, ordering, inventory, and waste reduction
- Maintain organization, forecasting, and daily readiness for service
- Lead execution during peak periods, events, and buyouts
- Ensure consistent performance across all outlets and service styles
Collaboration
- Partner closely with the Restaurant Manager and front-of-house leaders to deliver seamless guest experiences
- Support large-format service, events, and activations requiring coordinated execution
- Communicate clearly and professionally across departments
- Work closely with outlet chefs on seasonal menu development to cross utilize ingredients and reduce SKU’s
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 8 years of progressive culinary leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a Head Chef or senior management role
- Formal culinary certification or equivalent international qualification (Red Seal is considered an asset)
- Demonstrated success managing high-volume, fast-paced dining operations
- Proven track record in menu development, recipe engineering, and cost control
- In-depth knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in scheduling, ordering, and inventory management systems
- Ability to thrive in a mountaintop operation with unique logistical challenges
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Computer literacy with hospitality systems (recipe costing, scheduling software, etc.)
- Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences through culinary excellence
- Must hold a valid Canadian work visa or be legally eligible to work in Canada
