Assistant Food & Beverage Manager (Seasonal)

Camelot Golf & Country Club

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager plays a key leadership role in the daily operation of our Food & Beverage department. This position is responsible for managing front-of-house operations, supporting staff training and development, and ensuring seamless service execution across daily dining, banquets, tournaments, and private events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage front-of-house operations across the Legend Restaurant and Terrace.
  • Act as Manager-on-Duty during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure service standards, policies, and procedures are consistently executed.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence on the floor.
  • Support opening and closing procedures and ensure all standards are met.
  • Monitor service flow to ensure efficient and seamless execution.
  • Ensure proper table settings, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
  • Help train service staff and support ongoing staff training and development.
  • Participate in the creation and upkeep of Service Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support staff wine knowledge and menu pairing for events.
  • Lead event execution planning, including room setup, event needs, and service table assistance.
  • Oversee setup, execution, and teardown of member events, tournaments, and private events.
  • Respond professionally to Member and guest concerns.
  • Assist with inventory controls, beverage management, and requisition processes.
  • Coordinate effectively with culinary leadership to ensure smooth service execution.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and Smart Serve regulations.
  • Be present as operational needs demand, including evenings through closing and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience within a restaurant, banquet, hotel, private club, or hospitality environment.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant, banquet, and beverage service operations.
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Jonas POS systems is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
  • Reliable transportation is required, as public transportation does not service the Club.

Compensation

This is a salaried, seasonal position that includes 3 weeks of paid vacation and extended health benefits (medical, vision, and dental coverage).
