Position Details

• Job Type: Freelance Independent Contractor
• Hours: Approximately 20+ hours per week (flexible)
• Compensation: Starting at $23.00/hour, contract-based
• Reimbursement: Mileage reimbursement provided
• Location: Hybrid remote, primarily serving Ottawa and surrounding areas

About the Opportunity

At Mjolnir Construction, we specialize in transforming outdoor spaces through custom decks, fencing, railings, columns, and exterior renovations. We're looking to build a growing library of professional content that showcases our craftsmanship, company culture, project process, and completed work.

This opportunity is perfect for a creative individual with a strong eye for detail who can capture the quality and professionalism behind every project we complete.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our team to identify content opportunities and upcoming projects.
• Visit active construction sites to capture high-quality photos and video throughout various stages of construction.
• Document completed projects, team members, customer experiences, and behind-the-scenes content.
• Edit and produce professional photo and video assets for use on social media, our website, advertising campaigns, and other marketing materials.
• Organize and maintain a digital content library for future marketing and branding initiatives.
• Assist in creating content that highlights the Mjolnir Construction brand and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated photography and videography experience with a strong portfolio.
• Experience creating engaging content for social media and digital marketing platforms.
• Ability to tell a compelling visual story through photo and video content.
• Experience documenting construction, trades, landscaping, or outdoor renovation projects is considered a strong asset.
• Proficiency with photo and video editing software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
• Diploma or degree in Photography, Videography, Media Production, Marketing, or a related field is considered an asset.
• Valid G-Class Driver's Licence and reliable transportation.

Additional Information

• Hours may vary based on project schedules and seasonal workload.
• Travel to project sites throughout Ottawa and surrounding communities is required.
• CSA-approved safety footwear is required while visiting active construction sites.
• Mjolnir Construction will provide any additional personal protective equipment required.
• All raw footage, photographs, edited content, and related digital assets produced under this contract remain the property of Mjolnir Construction Inc.
• This is a new freelance opportunity intended to support the continued growth of our brand and marketing efforts.

Compensation

Pay: Starting at $23.00 per hour

Expected Hours: Minimum 20 hours per week

Requirements

Experience:

• Photography & Videography: 1 year (preferred)
• Content creation for construction, trades, home improvement, or related industries: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• G-Class Driver's Licence (required)
