About the Role
A2Z Language Hub is expanding its network of professional linguists and is looking for translators and interpreters in Bengali, Sinhala, Telugu, and other languages. You will support clients across Canada with official document translation and interpretation for immigration, legal, academic, medical, and government-related matters.

Applicants must currently reside in Canada.

Languages Needed

• Bengali
• Sinhala
• Telugu
• Other languages: we welcome applications from linguists in any language pair with English. Please state your languages in your application.

What You'll Do

• Translate official documents (civil status, legal, academic, immigration, technical, and general) accurately while preserving meaning, tone, and structure
• Provide interpretation services remotely (phone or video) and, when needed, in person
• Deliver clean, professionally formatted translations in Word and PDF

Requirements

• Full professional fluency in English and at least one of the languages above
• Must be residing in Canada
• Strong writing skills, with command of grammar, syntax, and terminology in both languages
• Proven accuracy and consistency suitable for institutional and government use
• Strong proofreading and attention to detail
• Comfortable working with Word and PDF files

Assets (Preferred)

• Any formal translation or interpretation training
• Some experience providing interpretation or translation for immigration, legal, court or medical
• Samples of previous translation work
• Availability to accept assignments on short notice

Assignment Details

• Freelance, assignment-based work with flexible scheduling
• Mainly remote for both translation and interpretation
• Occasional in-person interpretation in the Lower Mainland / Toronto, depending on client needs
