Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess potential clients for program eligibility/suitability
  • Case-manage clients from program acceptance through to job/school placement and follow up
  • Instruct and support clients in job search strategies (resume, interview, networking, job applications, on-line applications)
  • Support clients in overcoming personal/life management challenges; refer to community resources when needed
  • Advocate for job seekers with employers to assist in the hiring process
  • Promote program services throughout communities to enhance job opportunities for clients
  • Develop and monitor paid work exposures in collaboration with employer and job seeker needs
  • Problem-solve and assist clients with job retention.
  • Write reports and complete computer data entry

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education
  • Passionate about helping job seekers who have barriers to employment and/or disabilities to progress from unemployment to employment
  • Natural ability to build rapport and trust with people
  • Strong organizational and administration skills
  • Experience in job developing /employment marketing – knowledge of local labour markets
  • Understand accommodations of physical, cognitive, or mental health challenges
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Above average writing ability and interpersonal/communication skills
  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s licence plus $2 million liability insurance
  • Clear criminal record
