Full job description

We’re looking for a highly motivated and charismatic individual to become part of our HR & Payroll team located in Aldergrove!

Scamp Transport is a family business that originally began in 1981 with just one truck. Through dedication, hard work, and a commitment to succeed, Scamp has evolved to become the premier bulk petroleum transporter in Western Canada. We’re now 97 trucks strong, with over 260 employees and 5 locations throughout BC and Alberta.

As the HR & Payroll Administrator, your main role is to ensure that payroll is processed accurately and on time, and to provide “customer service” to our 260+ employees and managers.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Prepare & process biweekly payroll and year-end tax slips
  • Facilitate employee onboarding and terminations
  • Administer the Scamp Group Benefit plan
  • Maintain personnel files
  • Assist management with the stewardship of discipline processes
  • Support / back-up to HR Manager for all HR functions

Personal Skills & Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of Federal employment legislation
  • Thorough understanding of the full payroll cycle and year-end process
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information

Education & Work Experience Requirements

  • Completed (or in the process of obtaining) a PCP designation, or some similar coursework with at least 3 years experience in processing payroll
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now an asset
  • Completed or working towards a CPHR designation
