The Opportunity

EMBERS Staffing is looking for an experienced Carpenter to support active construction projects across Vancouver. This is hands-on work where your craftsmanship and knowledge of the trade will be put to use from day one — working alongside site supervisors and crews to deliver quality results on time and to code.

Shifts are available on a temporary, on-call, and contract basis, making this a strong fit if you want flexible work with steady opportunities as projects come in.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to plan and execute carpentry work accurately
  • Assisting site supervisors with structural layout, planning, and installation across various phases of construction
  • Installing and repairing doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures to a high standard of finish
  • Assessing the quality of woodwork and materials on site, identifying deficiencies and ensuring work meets project specifications
  • Operating hand tools and power tools efficiently throughout the workday
  • Ensuring all work complies with BC Building Codes, WorkSafeBC regulations, and site-specific health and safety requirements
  • Working in a physically demanding environment — this role requires prolonged standing, climbing, lifting, and carrying heavy materials

What You Need

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with carpentry work
  • In-depth knowledge of BC Building Codes and how they apply to residential and commercial construction
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings with confidence
  • Comfortable operating a range of hand and power tools
  • Strong communicator — you can coordinate clearly with tradespeople, vendors, and crew members on a busy job site
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality or safety
