Overview

Our Company is currently hiring experienced Wildland Type 3 Firefighters for the upcoming fire season. We are looking for experienced and motivated Crewbosses, Power Saw Operators, Danger Tree Assessors, and Frontline Firefighters with Level 1 First Aid with Transportation Endorsement.

All applicants must be able to complete Fit Test.

Safety orientation will be provided after completion of Fit Test.

Type 3 Firefighters must successfully complete S-100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety, or be eligible and complete the S-100a refresher training.

Type 3 Firefighters must successfully complete S-185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance

Danger Tree Assessors must be qualified as a Firefighter and have certification as a Danger Tree Assessor-Wildfire Module

The Wildland Firefighter plays a crucial role in protecting natural resources, property, and lives from wildfires. This position involves working in challenging outdoor environments and requires physical fitness, teamwork, and a commitment to safety. Wildland Firefighters are responsible for fire suppression, prevention, and control efforts during wildfire season.

Duties

  • Participate in fire suppression activities including constructing fire lines, conducting backburns, and extinguishing hotspots.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of controlled burns to manage vegetation and reduce wildfire risks.
  • Build and maintain firebreaks to prevent the spread of wildfires.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop effective strategies for wildfire containment.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy equipment, hiking long distances, and working in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Certifications related to firefighting is required
  • Strong physical fitness level with the ability to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a strong commitment to safety practices.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by emergency situations.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License is considered an asset.

Top wages will be paid. Wage dependant on certifications and experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a valid Class 5 Drivers License.
