- Lead, coach and develop Restaurant General Managers and their management teams, building accountability, succession and leadership capability.
- Establish clear operating priorities and ensure consistent execution across multiple restaurants and brands.
- Take ownership of operational performance, including sales, labour, food cost, profitability, guest experience and brand standards.
- Analyze P&L statements, forecasts and operating results; identify performance gaps and develop action plans to improve results.
- Coach General Managers on financial performance and strengthen their understanding of P&L management, labour planning and cost controls.
- Assess restaurant and leadership performance, identifying where additional support, development or corrective action is required.
- Drive operational consistency through effective systems, processes, standards and performance expectations.
- Lead through periods of operational change, staffing challenges and competing business priorities while maintaining focus on results.
- Partner cross-functionally with People, Finance, Safety, Maintenance and other support functions.
- Build strong relationships with airport partners, brand partners and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, health and safety requirements and airport security requirements.
- Support strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting for the airport operation.
- Serve as a senior onsite operational leader and provide leadership continuity across the airport business.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressive restaurant/foodservice management experience in high-volume operations.
- Minimum 5 years of General Manager-level experience with full operational and financial accountability for a high-volume, full-service restaurant with bar/alcohol operations.
- Minimum 3 years of multi-unit restaurant leadership experience with direct oversight, coaching and development of General Managers or equivalent senior restaurant leaders.
- Demonstrated experience leading a complex, high-volume, multi-unit food and beverage operation with accountability for multiple restaurant concepts or locations.
- Demonstrated full P&L accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, sales, labour, food and beverage cost, inventory and profitability.
- Proven track record of developing General Managers, strengthening leadership performance and building succession/bench strength.
- Demonstrated ability to independently assess underperforming restaurants and leaders, establish corrective strategies and drive measurable improvement.
- Experience leading through significant operational challenges, change or business transformation.
- Strong senior-level communication skills with demonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior leaders, business partners and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to establish priorities and make sound operational decisions independently in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience within airport, travel, contract foodservice or another complex multi-unit hospitality environment.
- Experience overseeing both full-service and quick-service restaurants and multiple restaurant brands.
- Experience in a unionized environment.
- Culinary or foodservice operations background.
- Experience managing a large-scale food and beverage portfolio.
Technical Skills
- Expert-level understanding of restaurant P&L management with the ability to teach and coach General Managers.
- Strong financial, analytical, forecasting and budgeting capabilities.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and restaurant Point-of-Sale systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage daily operational demands while maintaining focus on longer-term business priorities.
