Join Our Team at the Justice Institute of BC – Maple Ridge Campus

Schedule: Monday to Friday
Available Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Canuel Caterers is looking for an energetic and customer-focused Cafe Manager/ Cook to join our team at the Justice Institute of BC in Maple Ridge. This role combines front-of-house customer service with food preparation in a busy café environment. You will be working by yourself, managing the self-contained cafe.

Responsibilities

  • Opening and closing the cafe
  • Prepare a variety of fresh hot and cold food items, including baked goods, breakfast wraps/sandwiches, panini, sandwiches, salads, wraps, and grab-and-go meals.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service to all guests.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process cash, debit, and credit card transactions. Daily bank deposits.
  • Balance cash handling responsibilities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Stock, organize, and maintain attractive front-of-house displays, coolers, and beverage stations.
  • Place weekly orders, and monthly inventory counts
  • Follow all Food Safe practices and health regulations to ensure safe food handling and sanitation.

Qualifications

  • Food and Beverage Management experience
  • Valid FoodSafe Certificate (required).
  • Friendly, professional, and dependable with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check.
