Job Overview

Luxe Bistro is seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in the food service industry. As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety, and leading a team of cooks and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Quality & Standards: Ensure all dishes meet Luxe Bistro's standards for quality, flavor, and presentation
  • Par Management: Maintain optimal par levels for ingredients and supplies, reducing waste while ensuring readiness for service.
  • Cooking on the Line: Take an active role in cooking during peak hours, leading by example and supporting the team.
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food prep and workflow efficiency.
  • Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff to meet performance and quality expectations.
  • Monitor and enforce food safety and hygiene standards across the kitchen.
  • Oversee proper closing procedure.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years working in a steak house or upscale kitchen with a track record of maintaining food quality and operational efficiency. Brunch experience an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
  • Strong skills in par level management, food safety, and inventory control.
  • Hands-on cooking expertise and the ability to work the line during high-volume service.
  • Leadership and team-building skills with the ability to train and inspire kitchen staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organization, and communication abilities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: starting wage of $23-25/ hour (based on experience) with a review after 3 months. Plus generous weekly tip out.
  • Additional benefits include free meals, employee discounts, dental/ health care (after probationary period) and a positive work environment.

Schedule

  • Shifts last are 8 hours long and will be a mix of days and nights. Typically 4pm until midnight. We require open availability for weekends and holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
