Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. We are a hospitality group with locations within the Toronto area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food industry, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensuring that our team provides an exceptional dining experience while adhering to food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving.
  • Supervise staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
  • Oversee hiring processes, including interviewing and training new employees.
  • Manage inventory, cash handling, and POS operations (Silverware POS and OpenTable experience preferred).
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and a focus on resolution.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting and cost control measures.

Experience

  • Proven experience in Senior restaurant management or a similar role within the food service industry.
  • Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated team management skills.
  • Background in food handling, preparation, and cooking techniques.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with guests.
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems (Silverware POS and OpenTable knowledge is a plus).
  • Experience in hospitality settings such as hotels or cafes is advantageous.
  • Previous roles within a premium casual environment would be an asset to this venue
