Food Safety Coordinator – 12-Month Contract

YOUR ROLE IN OUR JOURNEY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Food Safety Coordinator for a 12-month contract position to support and strengthen our food safety and quality programs. This role will support regulatory compliance, supplier and co-packer coordination, product testing, shelf-life management, and food safety documentation across the business. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong attention to detail, and is passionate about maintaining high food safety and quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Support and maintain food safety programs in compliance with SFCR, CFIA requirements, GMPs, and HACCP-based preventive controls

● Conduct routine food safety inspections and verification activities

● Verify sanitation, temperature controls, GMP compliance, labelling practices, and storage conditions

● Review and sign off on daily food safety records, including temperature logs, sanitation checks, receiving records, and inspections

● Ensure corrective actions are documented, implemented, and completed effectively

● Support mock recall exercises and traceability activities

● Conduct product testing, including shelf-life evaluations, organoleptic testing, and pH testing

● Submit product samples to external laboratories as required

● Maintain supplier and co-packer documentation, including food safety certifications, specifications, allergen declarations, and related records

● Update and maintain shelf-life documentation and finished product specifications

● Prepare and maintain quality complaint and corrective action reports

● Support audit preparation and food safety documentation management

● Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Product Development, Logistics, Suppliers, and Co-Packers

● Promote a culture of food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement

QUALIFICATIONS

● Post-secondary education in Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred Inspired Go | Healthier and happier communities, one meal at a time. WE’RE HIRING

● Previous experience in a food manufacturing, food production, or quality environment considered an asset

● Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SFCR, and food safety principles

● Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail

● Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

● Strong communication and follow-up skills

● Proficient in Microsoft Office and documentation management

● Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment

SCHEDULE

● The schedule for this role will be based on the operational needs of the department and business. Flexibility in scheduling will be required and coordinated in discussion with the Head of Food Safety.

● This is a 12-month temporary contract position.
